Moleküle der Freundschaft: Beginn einer schulischen Partnerschaft in MAIRA AKKU-Islamabad-Pakistan
Von der Walther-Lehmkuhl-Schule in Neumünster bis hin zum neu errichteten Chemielabor in Islamabad – wir haben nicht nur ein Fenster zur Wissenschaft aufgestoßen, sondern auch Türen zwischen Deutschland und Pakistan für eine nachhaltige Bildungskooperation geöffnet. In enger Zusammenarbeit mit der SAYA-Schule in MAIRA AKKU-Islamabad haben wir das Ziel verfolgt, ein Labor zu errichten, das Neugier weckt und junge Talente fördert.
Mit dem Leitspruch „Chemie ist überall“ haben wir ein Lernumfeld geschaffen, in dem Sicherheit und praxisorientierter Unterricht im Mittelpunkt stehen. Durch diese Partnerschaft wurden innovative Lehrmethoden eingeführt, die Schülern die Chemie auf greifbare Weise näherbringen.
Diese Verbindung zwischen Neumünster und Islamabad hat eine dynamische Plattform für den Austausch und das gemeinsame Wachstum gebildet. Sie verheißt eine langfristige Beziehung, die sich nicht nur auf das Labor beschränkt, sondern sich auf das gesamte Bildungserlebnis erstreckt, um globale Bildungsgrenzen zu überwinden und eine strahlende Zukunft zu gestalten.

Bridging Borders through Chemistry: My Journey to Pakistan for a sustainable educational partnership

When I first stepped onto the land of Pakistan, I was not just carrying the responsibility of representing Walther-Lehmkuhl-Schule, but also the dreams and hopes of fostering a sustainable educational partnership with the SAYA School. The mission was crystal clear - to establish and operationalize a chemistry laboratory that would serve as a lighthouse of knowledge for the young minds of MAIRA AKKU-Pakistan.
The motto "chemistry is everywhere" became our guiding principle, symbolizing the universal language of science that go beyond geographical and cultural boundaries. The primary objective during this visit was to provide intensive training to the local teaching staff on the effective utilization of the chemistry laboratory.
A significant focus of the training was to underline the importance of safety measures while conducting laboratory classes. We took the opportunity to walk through the safety protocols with the teachers, emphasizing the critical role they play in safeguarding the well-being of their students.
Furthermore, we aimed to enrich the pedagogical skills of the Pakistani teachers by observing multiple chemistry classes for grades 8, 9, and 10. These sessions were not mere observations; they were interactive platforms where experiments were conducted with the students, bringing theory to life. The practical application of chemistry made the learning experience more engaging and enriching for the students, fostering a love for the subject.
An essential component of our visit was the intensive exchange of organizational aspects of science education. These discussions provided valuable insights into the different educational methodologies and opened up avenues for future collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The experience was nothing short of enlightening. The rich cultural tapestry of Pakistan, the warmth of its people, and the breathtaking natural beauty of the country left an indelible mark on me. But more than the sensory experiences, it was the true eagerness and enthusiasm of the students and teachers that was truly heartwarming.
This project marked the first step towards a long-term partnership between Walther- Lehmkuhl-Schule and SAYA School. It laid the foundation for a sustainable educational relationship, one that will continue to grow, evolve, and make a lasting impact on the lives of the students and teachers from both institutions. As we move forward, our commitment to fostering global partnerships for sustainable educational development remains stronger than ever, as we collectively work towards
a brighter, more informed future.
